The OxfordA&PAssociation is celebrating its
108th year and its annual show will be held on
Saturday, March 30.
The show's main objectives are to bring
town and country together, to enjoy country
hospitality and promote agricultural and

The association has its own grounds, which
are used extensively by the community for
The ground's numerous buildings are great
assets for the association. They include a large
general-purpose hall, owned by the
community, to house produce, craft, and
flower entries on show day; the A & P / rugby
building; a four-stand shearing shed; a storage
shed, which is used for the Highland dancing
on show day; and other smaller buildings.
A main arena is in the middle of the
grounds, with an all-weather smaller arena at
The association has a strong membership
and is thankful for continued support. Without
numerous sponsors giving prize money,
products and vouchers, the association would
not be able to run successful shows each year.
Programme of Events:
The Tasman Regional Young Farmers
Scurry Racing is returning to the Oxford show.
Come and see the New Zealand Scurry racing
championship final being run before the
Gates open from 7am.
8.30am Judging commences for light horses,
park hacks, show hunters, Arabs, cobs, saddle
ponies, show hunter ponies, Welsh, shetland
and led rein ponies, led hacks, ponies,
Appaloosa, Clydesdales, standard bred and
cobs, stock and station horses.
Dog trials commence
All post entries for flowers, vegetables and
root crops close.
GP hall exhibits to be staged; judging
commences at 9.15am.
Clydesdales, hackney and non-hackney.
9.30am Judging commences for
sheep, angora and mohair.
Highland dancing and shearing begin.
Judging commences for pets.
