MEMBERS OF the Rangiora branch
of the Keep New Zealand Beautiful
(KNZB) organisation will be cleaning up
litter around the picnic area beside the
Cones Rd bridge across the Ashley River
A former deputy principal of Rangiora
High School, Ron Mackie, said this is the
latest project for the Rangiora group in
the 20-odd years it has been running.
Many members don t like attending
meetings, but when it comes to working
bees, they always turn up.
Over the years, more than 8000 shrubs
and trees have been planted at working
bees by the group, which has also
removed graffiti from the main trunk
railway line, he said.
A lot of cans and bottles, and many
items of plastic, are expected to be col-
lected on Saturday as part of the clean up
litter campaign around the Ashley
bridge. The project will begin at 9am and
Mr Mackie anticipated participants
would be finished their clean-up by 10.30
or 11 am, so there should be little disrup-
tion to their normal Saturday activities.
Rubbish bags, gloves and high-
visibility vests will be supplied to litter
gatherers, he said.
As part of the KNZB campaign, the
group has photographs of other projects
on view at the Rangiora Library from
Monday until September 23.

NO DECISIONS: An artist's impression of one of the fully completed Horncastle homes to be offered at Pegasus.
PEGASUS OWNER, the Todd
Property Group, has responded
to market demand for fully com-
pleted new homes -- at a price.
In an unusual move, Todd
Property and Horncastle Homes
will shoulder the investment for
eight fully completed homes,
where all the decisions on inter-
iors have been made for the
Prices for the first homes to be
developed under the agreement
start from $535,000 for a four-
bedroom, two bathroom, two liv-
ing area home on a 602sqm sec-
tion. The homes will be ready for
occupation early next year.
Research commissioned by
Todd Property has revealed
many potential new home-
buyers do not want to spend
time and energy making the
multitude of decisions required.
We will organise the design,
consents, construction, landsca-
ping, and delivery of these
properties to the home-buyers
in a single, seamless trans-
action, managing director Evan
The agreement will be geared
to deliver finished homes within
four months of the laying of
foundations to occupation.
Buyers will have the option
to get involved early on in the
selection of fittings and finish-
ings, or they can simply move in
when the house is completed,
Mr Davies said.
There are just over 560 houses
completed at Pegasus, with an
anticipated 1000 to be built by
the end of 2014.
When completed, Pegasus
Town will house approximately
4500 residents on a total of 1636
