DRAWING THE EYES: Over the years, many successful

of local artists
This year's Rangiora Art Society
show will be held, as usual, over
the first weekend in September,
with set-up on Thursday,
September 5. The exhibition is
open to the public from
September 6 to 8, at the Rangiora
Bowling Club (entry on Good St,
just off Blackett St) and will be
open between 10am and 4pm
The Rangiora Art Society was
formed in 1959 and now has
more than 100 members. Over
the years, many successful
exhibitions have been held.
During the summer, members
sometimes meet at outdoor
venues. Indoor painting days are
held on Tuesdays from 9:30am
until 3pm. During winter, the
society invites tutors who take
workshops for groups of about 12 at a time.
The society has both experienced and
beginner artists, and anyone is welcome to
join. Members are constantly encouraged
to keep developing their artistic skills in a
caring and sharing atmosphere.
If you are an established artist, a wannabe,
or simply love the work of local artists, then
call in and admire their work, and see how you
can be involved. It's time you were 'drawn' in.
