The Waimakariri District Council Oxford Service

Customer Services Assistant who would be
available to work on a casual basis to cover staff
leave and peak workloads.
The role involves library work, counter and
telephone enquiries, cash receipting and associ-
ated administrative work, along with NZ Post/
Kiwibank retail and banking processes.
We seek applicants who possess excellent
customer service skills, proficient in Word and
Publisher programmes, willing to learn and have a
genuine enjoyment in working with people. Local
knowledge of the Oxford area is essential.

Aquatic Facilities Staff for Dudley Park
and Kaiapoi Aquatic Centres
The Waimakariri District Council operates a number of high quality Aquatic
Facilities in the Canterbury region including the Dudley Park Aquatic Centre
opened in 2010, and the Oxford Community Pool. In early August, the Kaiapoi
Aquatic Centre will reopen after a $4.5m earthquake related rebuild and
upgrade project, enabling the Council to extend its industry leading aquatic
programmes and recreational opportunities.
The Council s Aquatic Facilities are committed to providing a high level of
customer experience for wide range of users, and ensuring that each aquatic
centre in our district is being utilised to its full potential providing the highest
value possible to our communities.
To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for:
Lifeguards at Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for the supervision of patrons as well as
first aid and cleaning duties. Applicants must be fit and able to confidently
swim. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, good communicators,
work well in a team, display initiative and flexibility.
Shifts are as follows:
Weekdays: 5.30am-12.30pm (combined Lifeguard and Customer Service
role) 4.00pm-9.30pm and 3.30pm-7.30pm
Weekends: 7.00am-11.00am, 9.00am-5.30pm and 1.00pm-7.30pm
WaiSwim Learn to Swim Instructors at Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre
WaiSwim Instructors provide participants in our Learn to Swim programme
with high quality, structured technique and water safety tuition. Applicants
should have a positive attitude, enjoy working with young people and are
committed to teaching learn to swim.
Customer Service Representatives at Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre
Customer Service Representatives are the first point of contact for our
customers. We are looking for two people who are friendly, professional, good
communicators, able to use different computer software packages, work well
in a team environment and display initiative and flexibility.
Position 1: 3.00-7.00pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 8.30-12.30pm
Position 2: 3.00-7.00pm Monday, Tuesday and 12.30-5.00pm Thursday,
Lifeguard Supervisor at Dudley Park Aquatic Centre
This position is responsible for providing leadership to a small team of
lifeguard staff and will be one of the senior members of staff outside normal
business hours. Applicants must be fit and able to confidently swim. This role
would best suit someone who has a positive outlook, is capable of leading a
team and displaying good initiative, organisation and time management.
Shifts follow a 3 week rotating roster which ensures an equal share of
morning, evening and weekend shifts with an average of 36 hours per week.
These positions will be required to work closely with the Centre s Coordinator
and other Aquatic Facilities staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere
for our customers. Additional work may be available at the other Aquatic

Although advantageous, a background in the aquatic industry is not essential.
