The Council has approved an application to temporarily close the following road for
the period shown to allow for City Care Ltd to carry out carriageway reconstruction
works. This work is to be carried out in conjunction with the Kaiapoi Town Centre
Earthquake Repairs and Improvements.
Roads to be closed:
Charles Street, Kaiapoi
Between Williams Street and the entrance to the New World Car park
All affected businesses within the road closure limits will remain open as usual,
and access will be maintained via a detour through Sewell Street.
Period of Closure:
Closure will be for two weeks between
7:00am Wednesday 08 May, and ending 6.00pm Wednesday 22 May
24 Hours inclusive
This closure is made in accordance with Section 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule
of the Local Government Act 1974 and will apply to all vehicular traffic with the
exception of the Fire Service, Ambulance, Police, Council vehicles and other
vehicles authorised by the Council.
