Building Consent Officer
The Waimakariri District Council is seeking to
appoint a Building Consent Officer on a permanent
basis in Rangiora, North Canterbury. The
Waimakariri District offers a wide range of
recreational and lifestyle opportunities and is a
very desirable location, being less than 30
minutes drive from Christchurch.
The primary function of the role is processing of
building consents for compliance to the Building
Code. Accordingly, you must have an eye for
detail, a sound understanding of the New Zealand
Building Code and importantly are able to
communicate technical information in lay terms.
This is a full time role and would suit someone that
already has experience in the Building Control
environment or has significant experience in the
design and draughting profession.
Sound emotional intelligence, well developed
literacy and computer skills are essential. You will
be a team player with a "can do" attitude and be
prepared to go the extra mile for our customers.
