The Waimakariri District Council s Aquatic Facilities is looking for two dynamic
individuals with a mature outlook, to join our team. The Waimakariri District
Council operates the Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Oxford
Community Pool, and Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre (reopening in July 2013). The
Aquatic Facilities are committed to providing our customers with a wide range
of aquatic programmes and activities.
Lifeguard Shift Supervisor - Will be responsible for the smooth day to day
running of poolside and need to be an engaging customer focused person who
can problem solve on-the-go and effectively run a small team. Lifeguard Shift
Supervisors are responsible for setting an example for the Lifeguard team
who supervise our customers, ensuring they have a fun, safe experience and
are keen to return. It is essential that applicants for this role are confident
Aquatic Facilities Administrator - Is primarily responsible for providing
administrative support to the Aquatic Facilities WaiSwim Schools programme.
In addition the Administrator provides ICT and administrative support to the
Council s Aquatic Facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong
customer service approach, be highly organised, and be solution focused.

FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER
Christchurch Women s Refuge is a not-for-profit
agency dedicated to supporting New Zealand
families to become their best, free from family
violence. As New Zealand s first refuge, we have
provided a range of specialist family violence
services to women and children for almost 40
years. Moving forward, our new strategic plan is
founded on the belief that the safest place for
women and children should be their homes and
that we all have the potential to overcome family
violence and become a great parent and partner if
offered appropriate encouragement and support.
To this end, we are now developing a range of
services for the whole family, including women,
men and children and are seeking passionate and
skilled people to join our team.
This role is 35 hours per week,
The Family Support Worker is responsible for:
• Providing direct services for adults, children
and young people
• Forming and maintaining operational
partnerships with external agencies
The successful applicant will be able to
demonstrate skills and experience in the following
• Work with adults and children affected by family
violence (2-3 year experience minimum)
• Relationship management and working in
partnership with other organisations
• Communication and facilitation
• Strengths and values-based practice
A social work, psychology or other relevant
professional qualification is desirable.
