Understanding the stresses of recovery in the
second and third years: protecting health, lifestyle
All welcome. Light supper, tea and coffee provided.
New Zealand Red Cross is delighted to be
able to offer this session with disaster
psychologist Dr Rob Gordon, who has more
than 25 years' experience.
"When Rob described the stress of recovery
it was as if he was inside my head looking at
what was going on."
Personal choice for individuals

Duck's world: Homosexuality is probably as old as the human race and exists
in other species, possibly even ducks, writes Roy Myers of Amberley.
It is unfortunate that Jasmin
Harrison, aged 14, must be
publicly corrected for her poorly
informed and contradictory letter
(Outlook, October 3).
It should be the adults
responsible for misinforming
Jasmin and presumably
transferring their own distorted
view of the world to her who
should bear the brunt.
It is hardly a recommendation

It does not appear to have

While Jasmin might have been
warned off the concept of

What a 14 year-old might not
realise is that sex is pleasurable,
and how one takes pleasure is a
personal choice as long as it does
not harm others.
Sex can be used for recreation
as well as procreation.
While moralists like to proscribe
what's right for others, I suggest
that individuals should make
their own choices.
That presupposes that
homosexuality is a choice and is
not genetically determined, which
it may well be.
Live and let live.
I suggest that Jasmin gets out
more and mixes with a wider
group of people and reads a broad
range of material.

saddened to watch the outrageous
behaviour on the part of Rangiora

Are the school principal and

other significant and special parts
of our community no longer mean
anything to them?
Nursery school has been on that

not even bought -- but gifted -- to
the high school.
It seems beyond belief that after

I too am horrified by the imminent
closure of the Rangiora Nursery

long time ago now.
When I was a pupil, high school
girls assisted -- thus gaining
experience in child care. Now,
when totally unprepared girls

I too would like to add my weight

My entire family enjoys riding

families in our neighbourhood.
We are all respectful of our
surroundings and never leave any
trace that we have been riding at
the end of the day.
As for creating excessive noise, I

I was very disappointed to read

I totally agree with Hayley

who have an issue with motor
