International Day of Older People
CELEBRATION - Monday 1st October
The Day of Older Persons wish to apologize for the wrong day
and year printed on some of the tickets sold. The correct day
is Monday 1 October 2012. This Celebration will be held at
the Rangiora RSA from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Two groups will
provide music for singing and dancing. Afternoon tea and

North Loburn and Loburn School
The Boards of Trustees from North Loburn and
Loburn Schools invite applications from parents
who wish to enrol their children at North Loburn or
Loburn School for 2013. Enrolment at these
schools is governed by an enrolment scheme, the
details of which are available from the respective

The exact number of places will depend on the
number of applications received from students
who live within the school s home zone. Parents of

enrol at the school.
The deadline for receipt of applications for out of
zone places is 3pm Friday 26th October 2012. If
a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be
held on 31st October 2012. Parents will be
informed of the outcome by 5th November 2012.
Applications from out of zone students will be
processed in the following order of priority:
First priority will be given to students who have
been accepted for enrolment in an approved
special programme. (This priority category is not
applicable at either school.)
Second priority will be given to applicants who
are siblings of current students.
Third priority will be given to applicants who are
siblings of former students.
Fourth priority will be given to applicants who are
children of board employees.
Fifth priority will be given to all other applicants.

ALONGSIDE WATER RACES
The public is advised that spot control of weeds by
chemical spraying, will take place alongside
stock-water races in the Waimakariri District
Council Water Race system during the period
1st October 2012 to 10th February 2013.
The chemicals used will be Triclopyr and Green
Glyphosate with a penetrant additive. The
chemical spraying will control gorse; broom and
other weeds to ensure water races can be
maintained to a high standard.
